Gordon & Co is a London residential estate agency and property management company, established in 1948. Our services include property sales, lettings, property management and estate/block management.
Currently our offices are based in key London locations - Battersea, Covent Garden, Elephant and Castle, Norbury, Paddington and Tower Bridge with three international offices in Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
We are keen to abide by and learn from all the professional bodies involved in the property industry and we are currently members of the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority), NAEA (National Association of Estate Agents), ARLA (Association of Residential Estate Agents), ARMA (Association of Residential Managing Agents) and The Property Ombudsman.
Propertymark launched in February 2017 combining five different associations into a single brand. The five associations (ARLA, NAEA, NAVA, ICBA and APIP) were dedicated to promoting the highest industry standards for over 50 years.
The Propertymark Client Money Protection (CMP) Scheme provides compensation to landlords, tenants and other clients should an agent misappropriate their rent, deposit or other client funds.
The aim is to raise standards in the industry and to protect consumers and the Client Money Protection Compensation Scheme is an integral part of this. That is why it’s mandatory for all Principel, Partner or Director Member Firms to have CMP in place for every company that acts as an agency in property (including the auctioning of chattels) and handles client money or uses a third party to control its client money.
By law, Property Agents are required to join a government authorised consumer redress scheme. Gordon & Co are part of The Property Ombudsmen Scheme. (TPOS) The purpose of this is to give consumers of the Property Agent an escalated complaints procedure if they are unhappy with how their complaint has been dealt with by the Agent.
A 'consumer' is a person who uses the service of the Property Agent. Estate Agent consumers will be both sellers and buyers of a property. Letting Agent consumers will be both landlords and tenants. Property Management Agent consumers will generally be the freeholder, head leaseholder or residents' management company.
The Property Ombudsmen Scheme is also open to other Property Professionals. Any customer who uses the service provided by the Property Professional is considered to be a 'consumer'.
The above consumers of Members of the Property Redress Scheme may be able to have a complaint dealt with by The Property Ombudsmen Scheme.
