The best of shopping in Paddington, West London

Everyone loves a bit of retail therapy at the weekend after a hard week in the office. The problem is, if you live in a vibrant and busy area like West London, it can be hard to pick out the real gems from the wide range of outlets available.

Here, we take a look at some of the very best places to do some shopping in Paddington across a range of experiences and budgets.

The Dresser

We start our tour of shops in and around Paddington with a fantastic little clothing boutique. At The Dresser, you'll find high quality second hand goods for all tastes. The fact that the legendary Eric Clapton even donates some clothes to this store should tell you just how wonderful and stylish it is - and the bonus is if you buy any Clapton cast-offs you're donating all the money to charity.

Most of the pieces on the rail are perfect for fashionistas looking for something unique or hard to find. High end fashion is the order of the day, and you'll want to just spend hours in the quirky little surroundings going through clothes from the likes of Prada, Gucci and Chanel for both men and women. And the best part? They're all available for a fraction of the price the lucky original owner would have paid.

Moss Bros

From high fashion to high class, Moss Bros is a name that anyone with an eye for a truly great suit will surely have heard of before. The name is almost synonymous with high quality tailoring. They primarily deal with high-end rentals, but if you're starting a new job and really looking to dress to impress, the company also sell shirts, ties and jackets in a range of formal designs.

The staff themselves really buy into the formality of suits and tailoring, and it's unlikely you'll find a more knowledgeable group of people anywhere. Regardless of the occasion you need a suit for, the staff will be able to advise you on exactly what you need.

L'Occitane is one of the world's best known boutiques when it comes to providing the highest quality in natural beauty products, so why not pamper yourself next time you're out in Paddington? This vibrant little space in Whiteley's shopping centre really brings the warmth and sunshine of St Tropez to London - ideal for the winter months - and you can spend literally hours browsing the fantastic products they offer.

Everything sold at L'Occitane, be it a soap, a moisturising balm or any of the products from the shea butter range will remind you of summer and leave you feeling beautiful. And they now also have a great range of fragrances for those looking to splash out a little bit.
